Make-up still being finished, shoes resting on lace, an arm waiting for her at the foot of the stairs. Andrea and Stefania's day began quietly, with the small gestures nobody remembers and that actually say everything.

Then an open-air ceremony beneath the trees, white chairs and their closest friends; the sand ritual, hands reaching for each other, parents' embraces. And in the evening, under the wooden beams, a party that needed no directing: all it took was being there, and we were.
